Me gusta mucho el trabajo de Paul D´Amato, sus retratos, los sujetos que elige, la luz de sus fotos, las escenas de calle... Creo que está donde tiene que estar y hace las fotos que tiene que hacer sin por ello parecer un simple voyeur. Hay siempre algo de íntimidad en sus imágenes.
Quizás la única excepción a lo anterior sea su serie Rave/Dance/Club, en la que Paul toma fotos de los asistentes a estos eventos y pone en evidencia con ellas el desparrame y la introspección colectiva tan característico en estos rituales contemporáneos. Aún así, también me gusta.
I love Paul D´Amato´s work, his portraits, the subjects he choose, the light in his pictures, the street shots... I think he is in the right place, taking the right pictures, without being a simple voyeur because of it. There´s always some intimacy in his images.
His series Rave/Dance/Club is maybe the only exception. In this project, Paul takes pictures of people in these events and shows the crazyness and colective introspection of this contemporary rituals. Even then, I like it too.
